Hello all, I will be traveling from Manila and have only a week to dive in Feb. Komodo interests me the most. Does this make sense logistically or will I spend too much time in transit? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I think at least Cebu Pacific and Philippine Air fly Manila > Denpasar - you'll need to overnight in Bali before taking the short flight to Labuan Bajo the following day. You can see a lot in 5-6 days, especially on a Liveaboard.

I'm not sure which boats remain in Komodo during that period as most of them are in Raja Ampat for the Oct-Mar season. There are plenty of other posts on here asking a similar question and there are definitely some boats there year round. Again, I don't know much about conditions at that time of year.

Komodo is fabulous diving - by far the best I've ever done, and I've been to some good spots.

Im pretty sure Feb is slightly off season for Komodo though technically you can still do it. I wouldnt at that time if you want to get the best conditions. Its Raja season as jameesdiving pointed out and the main lobs are there. But that region, It may be too far travel and timewise for you. I would dive in Tulamben instead if I had just a week.

Thanks for the suggestions, you say it's off season for Komodo, is that because of its latitude?
