Best scuba advice you’ve received

Said by a guy who dives the same gear he did in the 80s. He had a good point.

My instructor told me if we encountered a large angry shark to take my knife cut my dive buddy on the leg and swim like hell!

That would have been probably the best advice, during my 1st marriage

To just enjoy diving and not focus on perfection.

Skill perfection will come, but focusing on it will make you hate the dive. Not to mention, burn you out in the meantime. I've been told to slow it down or I'll end up hating diving in general. And it's a good point. My last dive was miserable because I was overanalyzing my trim and buoyancy. Ended up ending the dive early just because I felt like a failure.
