Hey All,

Looking for folks to chime in on dive shops located in the Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach area that have good quality airfills. By good quality I mean:

- The air has been filtered and is DRY/dehumidified (finding rust spots in my tanks during vis ruins my day :-p)
- rarely does short fills (getting my 3500 psi tanks only filled to 2700 is annoying)

If you can prices for individual fills and fill cards would also be great :-),

Thanks,

Bob

In the Pompano area, "Fill Express" is frequently named as one of the best places for gas in S. FL - quick fills and almost all gases are available - many, including tech divers swear by them - you would not be disappointed in their service.

Prices are competitive w/ other dive shops, but when it comes to fills, few can match their offerings.

+1 for Fill Express. They charge by amount of air, not per tank.

I just had 4 tanks filled yesterday. They all had approx 1000 psi left (Blue Heron Bridge dives).

Total: $23.75 for 40% in all four.

Fill Express is my go-to place.
However,
There are many other fine fill stations such as Force-E in Pompano and Lauderdale Diver (partial pressure Nitrox).
There are 2 principle advantages of Fill Express.
Banked 32%, 36%, and 40% "pre-mix". Your tanks will always get a proper fill there. Also, you can drop the tanks for a bit and return to full ones, or wait for the fills which are generally prompt unless you hit a crush. Should you hit a crush, it generally takes no more time than another PP fill elsewhere.
Be aware though, they do not do the water tank dunk when they fill. Some folks seem to like that.

Chug
Cannot wait for summer again.

Wow - Unanimous support for Fill Express :-D And they even rent steel 100s

I don't dive nitrox very often (but maybe I should convert ;-)) since 95% of my dives are shallow beach dives - for just plain air fills, how does Force-E stack up (for the 2 criteria above: filtered dry air & proper psi fills)?

Fill Express charges the same for air and nitrox so you might as well go for the good stuff if you use them.
