Can you recommend a pocket to use with a harness? I want to carry a mirror, wet notes and a few other small items. It doesn't need to be too large, and prefer not to glue pockets to my suit. X-shorts seem like overkill.

I was thinking about one of these Dive Rite pockets:

Any reviews/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Get the thigh pocket. I have one and it works well. I typically have a back-up mask, bail-out tables and a few odds-n-ends in mine. The good thing about the thigh pocket is that it is a little easier (for me) to reach into as opposed to a pocket which is directly on the waistband. It's basically the same as a glue-on pocket, without glue :)

I have the same newer version as pictured. The older version of the thigh pocket got a bad rap, mainly because the elastic holding the pocket to your thigh would slip and the pocket would slide around on your leg. The new version has a latex-like non-skid material and a better designed elastic band that doesn't slip.

Strangely, I have Halcyons weight pockets and they have a roll out thigh pocket which I almost NEVER use.
The velcro is soo good that I have a hell of a time getting the pocket open to retreive anything.
I find it more difficult to reach a waste pocket but it's easier to get opened.

As much as I love Dive Rite gears, the pockets they make are too big for my own purposes. Even the Clipper pocket is roomier than I prefer for my needs. So I got an xscuba pocket that is a lot smaller than the DR pockets, and dare I say it, a lot cheaper too. Enough for me to throw in a pocket knife, a 4lbs soft weight, some small trash that I might find under the sea.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll go with the DR thigh pocket.

I prefer the way that the Halcyon pocket attaches to the backplate in addition to just having the waist strap pass through a loop on the back.

I use the DiveRite "Clipper/Slate" pocket on the right waist strap of BP/W. Am in the process of adding another one to right side for offshore diving. In one pocket I am able to carry a safety sausage, mirror, and compass. These pockets work well and hold up great.

I agree. I like the Zephyr from XS Scuba.
