Best of Ubud?

I thank you all for your input. I am leaning towards cuppajoes idea of a place that you walk into and are taken away by paths and gardens and bungalows and a pool. What is SRI cuppajoe? The price seems good too!

SRI is the full name of the hotel. You can find them on the internet. But make sure it is the one on Monkey Forest Rd. I believe the full name is SRI bungalows, even though they are not bungalows by our definition. Do give them a try.

One more suggestion... (I just saw this thread today) Twice when I've been in Bali I stayed at a little place called "Garden View Cottages" in Nyuh Kuning, Ubud. Both times I've been so happy there. It is quiet and calm. There is a pool called the Blue Mango Pool. The people there were so gracious and wonderful. To get into the main part of Ubud, you walk a path through the Monkey Forest - that's always interesting. The price is right. If you go to this website, you can find out more: http://www.indo.com/hotels/gardenview-ubud/ The last business card I got from there had their phone number as 0812 364 1849. It has been about a year and a half (?) since I was last there, but I highly recommend it.

There are 3 "Sri" hotels in Ubud; ie. Sri bungalow, Dewi Sri bungalow and Sri Ratih Cottage - all small hotels. This website Ubud Bali Travel Guide - that explores the arts and culture, people, environment, and other facets of the ubud village provide complete list of accomodation in ubud - unfortunately no link. Use google.

Sorry for the confusion. The place is called SRI Bungalows. It is the only SRI on Monkey Forest Rd. in Ubud. If you google it, you will find it. I promise.
