I am looking for greater visibility, and am wondering if anyone has a recommendation. The Atomic Aquatic Frameless mask looks to be very good. A 2008 Scuba Lab article shows it has a 85 degrees horizontal and 75 degrees vertical field of view. Of the 75, 50 degrees is below the horizion. Can anything beat that? Thanks!

The Atomic Frameless is a really good mask (I use one) but like other masks, you really need to try it on and check the fit and view for yourself. Everyone's face is different and you may find it doesn't fit you. For your reference, Scubapro and Cressi also offer similar masks. I'm sure other manufacturers do as well.

I love Atomic gear in general, and the masks look especially well-designed. I tried one on in a shop and it didn't fit my face, unfortunately. Kudos to the shop (PanAqua in NYC) for sacrificing the sale to steer me in the right direction.

I just got an atomic aquatics and my husband wants to steal it from me! It seems to almost be a one size fits all mask. I've had a very hard time finding a mask that fits and this one fits quite well, just minor leakage if I'm really breathing or tumbling around, which is excellent in my experience.
id highly recommend it. The visibility is very nice and you have a great deal of peripheral vision.

I use an Oceanic Shadow which may be similar, it is a frameless and sits right about as close as possible to where my eye lashes darn near brush against the glass.
I also have a Cressi Big Eyes which has superior downward view and it's decent in other directions as well.
I've heard people rave about Atomics and I may have to try one soon, I don't think you could go wrong with one at all.

I really love the vis, but I have a chronic problem with it leaking off and on from the bottom. Also I find the seal to be slightly weak at the bottom, so the occasional shot of water will blast past and splat m eye (different then eak issue).

Just remember that Atomic makes that mask in two sizes. A "regular" size and a "medium" size which is for a little smaller face. The front of the mask looks about the same but the skirt is a bit smaller on the medium. It's about 4 1/2 inches across the opening on the medium and right at 5 inches on the regular.

Scubapro offers a very similar mask - Orbit. I tried both and the view is the same they are just made for different faces. I picked orbit as it was sitting better.
Try before you buy.

Of all the masks I have used nothing has ever compared to the Atomic Frameless, it's FOV, snappy, dry seal, comfort, good looks and near universal fit in two sizes just cannot be beat even at the premium price. The ScubaPro Orbit, ScubaPro Frameless, Mares X-Vision are also good masks with some variety in fit and style and similar quality.

I have a Tusa Visualator. They say it has a "2.5 times increase in field of vision." It is pretty good looking downward.

Tabata USA, Inc. - NEW : M-14 VISUALATOR [M-14]

It's only for larger faces though, my buddy gave it to me when he couldn't get it to seal correctly.
