It is an excellent book, but VERY oriented toward Navy operations.How about the Navy manual?

Definitely not for the recreational diver. The science [physiology, physics, etc.] and open circuit SCUBA are worth reading and applicable to sport diving. Surface supplied, O2 diving sections, not so much. Still worth having an edition in your library.How about the Navy manual?

It talks about equipment, and best practices; most of that is quite different today.Umm, have the laws of physics changed? Human physiology? It is out of print, not out of date.
