Best Caribbean destination for diver and non-diver

I'm thinking of going on a trip solo in October. Is St. Croix a safe destination for a woman traveling alone? What about dive buddies when no one is going with you?

I believe anyone can wear a feather in their hat but only the clan chief can wear 3 feathers - i should know all this as i sell kilts for a living - will do some research and let you know!!
