I am heading to Cabo in early August looking for help with which Hotel to stay at one diver (me) one none diver.
Also any other Cabo info would be great.

Yes I searched which is why I am not asking about dive providers.

I stayed at the Quinta del Sol just outside of Cabo san Lucas. I couldn't have been more pleased with the cost, service, space, amenities. The Continental breakfast with the locals was great. It is across the street from the old bull fighting ring not to be confused with the other quinta del sol. It is not inside the town and so is relatively quiet which I liked. The down side is that you need a car but I would suggest a car anyway. PM me for more information.

My favourites are Playa Grande, Sol Mar and Finisterra. Sol Mar is the least expensive of these, they are all on the Pacific side of the marina and are away from the vendors and craziness BUt are within easy walking distance of it all. They are also located a short walk from several good dive ops - Amigos Del Mar and Baja Divers and their boats. Have fun!
Look on Tripadvisor for more info RE hotels.

Playa Grande is great, a condo time share resort. Solmar Hotel rooms are being torned down to make room for more condos. But there are solmar condos are still there.

I'm a new diver, so take this for what it's worth. I did mu OW with Traun Lynch at caboticket.com. He works through Rio Sports on Mendeno Beach. He is a PADI instructor. I was the only one in the boat and had one on one diving with him. I knew him from previous years with other water sports. Playa Grande and Solmar are about a 10 minute walk to the marina and the Rio Sports dive boat.

You gave no budget, I have two recommendations at each end of the financial scale:
1. Hotel Mar De Cortez, in town within easy walking distance of just about anything in town. No car needed. Simple but clean and a good value if you are just looking for a room.
2. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica, on the Pacific side of the penninsula. Luxurious with all sorts of amenities but no swimming from the beautiful beach. Very good but expensive food. Isolated from town, you can use taxis but a car (personally I hate driving in Cabo, it's a Mad Max movie) is probably a better value if you go out at all.

I want to resorect this thread.
I am looking for a good Hotel mid to high range on the beach for my GF and an ability for me to dive. I do not want to rent a car

yes, it is a old thread, but i can point you in the right direction. right on the beach, at the higher end is "hacienda" which is located on the beach at the entrence of the marina, and also backs up close to the marina. then playa grande is on the other side, as well as finesterra. these are close to the dive shops located on that side of the marina. which time of year? august? if so, warm water, and hot outside.

Thank you Cabo ticket for your insight.
What kind of diving can I execpt to do?
I mean is it all boat dives is there an on sight dive operator at the mentioned hotels. Does any onw have a fav dive in Cabo?

the water will be warm in august, night diving, we do the day trips to cabo pulmo as well at this time of year. well worth the trip, a lot of fish. the dive shops are located around the marina. lands end is great, the sea lions come out to play, and plenty of big pelagics

We stayed at los milagros last july. cute boutique hotel with tiny pool to cool down in downtown. the owner is on site all the time and is very friendly. i think we paid 85 a night. it was a short walk to great food and sunshine divers dive shop. i'd repeat the trip often if the diving was better.
