Remember, LP is now an authorized Oceanic dealer. Their price won't be any different that any other authorized dealer. If you're buying Oceanic, you might as well buy from your LDS as LP.

LP is not a ScubaPro or AquaLung authorized dealer so you can get better pricing on these brands.

The question here is packaging, and who can put together a better price for the package. And LP does put together some great packages with oceanic equipment. And LP carries a huge selection. So you can get what you want at a great price.

Also, they will not think you are from outer space, if you try to get a better price as oppose to some lds I have seen. But that is a whole different thread

The local dive store for many of us in Florida is Diver's Direct. They are a "discount" store. That regulator is $300, the octo is $115 and the BC $350 at that store. I didn't see the gauge and computer, but that's probably going to cost another $200.

I don't always buy gear.... but when I do, I prefer Leisure Pro. Stay thirsty, my friend.

I am in no way affiliated with them, but you might take a look at Dive Right In Scuba Right now they are running a "lets make a deal" special. You pick out the stuff you want, and send him an email with an offer. If he doesn't like hte offer, he will make a counter offer. I have taken advantage of it already and he is making some pretty good deals.

Give it a shot, worse he can do is say no....

I'm not affiliated with them, either, but my recent experience with them earned them "Best Customer Service Ever" in my book. Highly recommended.

That oceanic package is pretty good, it does the job, like others have said, not deluxe, but they can put a deluxe package together if you want.

What do you guys mean by deluxe? I think the oceanic package is perfect. Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Hey, Sam. Deluxe is having a little transmitter attached to the first stage. The tank pressure is sent to the computer on your wrist, so there is no high pressure hose.

Deluxe is a BC with a built-in safety susage launcher.

Deluxe is a regulator that moistens the air you breathe.

Deluxe is a BC inflator with a horn on it. Yes, an air horn.

You get the idea. Not being a "deluxe guy", I like that Oceanic set, too.
