i have notice that favorite brand is Zeagle.. i am in the market for a back inflate bc.. so as a newbie like me would Zeagle be a great starting back inflate BC?

backplate and wing.. hands down. Many brands to chose from.

Just as I told someone else, comfort first, money second. I'm a believer in DR, my wife is Scuba Pro, had her try a DR and now she's sold!

...and after owning it for one day (and I'm assuming, you haven't even tried it out yet) you can say this?

I have been using a friends for 3 weekends straight. Have logged 12 dives with his. Also rented a Scubapro Nighthawk from a local dive shop.

While I enjoy the weight system's ease of use on the Nighthawk, it's price it too high.

I also found my buoyancy easier to control when vertical with the added rear weight pockets on the Brigade.

The cost of the Brigade with a Octo-z was still $100 less than the Nighthawk without the AIR 2.

I should have expanded my post. You shouldn't buy equipment as personal as a BC without trying one.

Check out the Cressi Back Jac. It's what I dive, had it for 5 months now. Taken it on several trips and assisted in several classes with it, and I love it hands down. Comfortable, practical, easy to use weight system.

So a vote to check out Cressi Sub, here.

Cressi is a popular brand in Europe, they make pretty good equipment. Cressi is the oldest scuba equipment make in the world. And they are not over price. I have one of their regs, and I am pretty happy with it. Some of my friends in Germany have cressi BC's and like them. With the slowing eco, looking for a bang for the buck bc is a good idea. If you are looking at getting a Cressi BC, I would go look at Leisurepro website. They have customer reviews, and they are a authorized dealer of Cressi also. Good luck

By far the best bang for the buck. Low cost, well made, full featured including weight intergration, plenty of lift for most applications and a lifetime warrenty- what more could you want? And it's light weight to boot.
I have dove one for years and other than some fading (pool is hell on BC's) it is still in prefect shape.

Which one of the Zeagle BCs in thier current product lineup is comparible to the Brigade?

The models I see on thier website are:

Scout, Stiletto, LaZer Zena, Rapid-Diver, Escape, Concept II Pro, Ranger, Ranger LTD, Tech, SAR, 911.

A Brigade is a Ranger with an Escape bladder. I would say it's closest to a Stilletto - but a Stilletto doesn't support twin tanks. A Stilletto will pack smaller also, I've had both and can cram the Stilletto into my carry-on - but not my Ranger. But I have a big bladder (65#) for twins.

An Escape lacks the Ripcord and twin tank option and the Concept II lacks the twin tank option - but it has the bigger (44#) bladder. Otherwise they appear very similar to the Brigade.
