Just about all the diving in Dahab is shore based. That means your wife can go snoerkel where you are diving. I didn't do a single boat dive there. I didn't snorkel at all, but I would recommend Dahab over Sharm. It will be much more inexpensive, and you can even snorkel the Blue Hole! You can do other cool things in Dahab as well-climb Mount Sinai, visit the Colored canyon, and visit Saint Catherine's Monastery. You could even squeeze in an overnight trip to see Petra!

Dahab diving is very special...
Of course, you have the Blue Hole and other iconic spot but there are also many other spots from shore where both, divers and snorkelers, will enjoy the experience.
I found it very special to gear up on the main street of Dahab and dive to an elefant sculpture while our belongings was kept save on a carpet by a boy from the restaurant we were later scheduled to take lunch.

My favorite day diving in Dahab was when we drove out and in between dives, rested on carpets and pillows and ate deliciousl food. As I was only OW certified, I could only swim above the canyon, but boy was that a great day!!!! Can't wait to go back and actually swim into it! Dahab was absolute diving paradise (other than that shore diving is harder for me that boat diving as I've got a dicey ankle, and at 67, it's hard to walk out with the gear, and it's impossible to walk back in with my gear.) Can't wait to go back in August 25!

Really, you can’t do better than to snorkel off the jetty at El Fannar. The snorkelling there is nothing short of fabulous. Far, far better than Naama bay, plus there are great shaded sun beds and a really good Italian style beach restaurant, The two closest hotels are the Renaissance and Jaz Fanara. The Renaissance is a bit of a concrete jungle. Jaz Fanara is on a more human scale.

Do your diving proper with Elite and I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll both have a great time.
