I use cheap baby shampoo too. Have a dilute solution in a spray bottle (that often gets left in the back of my truck, accidently) and also use it to help to put on wet-gloves.

I use baby shampoo most of the time, but in a pinch I will just spit in it (mask that is). I have done 5 hours dives with no fogging issues with babby both methods.
I have found that if my mask does start fogging and I have to clear it more than once, that if I take it off and rub the inside of the mask with my fingertip very ruggedly it solves the problem for the rest of the dive.
can be dangerous as well.I'll have to try your second suggestion. I use johnson and johnson baby shampoo diluted with water in spray bottle and it works great 9 times out of 10... but when on those longer dives where i have to clear a few times, and it gets washed out, it starts fogging a lot which can get miserable.

everyone doing long tech dives should clean their masks periodically, not just defog it, but scrub it out really well.
almost killed me once...

I clean my backup mask before every dive, too. A lot of folks forget to do that.
