Belize - Suggestions for North of San Pedro town?

I hear that north of town is nicer if you want quiet but still want access to town. Any suggestions on hotels and dive operators? Quality of dive operation is important (as is value/cost).

Captain Morgans is nice. It's a bit far from the dive ops. Some may come and pick you up from there. Ask. Amigos Del Mar has some of the better boats. We enjoyed diving with them. If you don't mind staying amidst the action, Ramon's is also a nice place to stay, but it is right in the middle of San Pedro.
