Tourist drowns during diving trip on Mallorca

A Belgian tourist has drowned while diving off the coast of the Spanish island of Majorca.

The man was diving with some friends around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning in Cala D'Or, a resort located on Mallorca's east coast. For reasons as yet unclear, things went awry. The man's friends quickly pulled him out of the water and tried to resuscitate him. They also immediately notified the emergency services. However, the Belgian tourist could no longer be saved; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
