There is no best beer, just like there is no best dive op. My favorite beer on Cozumel is Leon Negra but YMMV.
BTW the Sunday rule is that you cannot buy alcohol in stores after 3PM. I don't know what sense that makes, but there it is. Bars and restaurants are not affected, thank goodness!

If I recall correctly, we missed out on a Saturday night too, I think after 9 PM and we checked out at like 9:10 PM. Not sure if that is still the case. Then the next night we missed out at the 3 PM deadline Sunday and had to wait until Monday.
Bohemia (the Clara) is an excellent quality Mexican lager with more flavor than the common mass-produced ones. I find the Oscura a bit sweet but will drink it if I cannot get the Clara, and way before something like Dos Equis or the like but you may notice from my handle here I'm a bit of a beer person. Modelo is (or possibly was at this point, as the AB Inbev / SAB Miller merger is also forcing some brand sell-offs) part of the world's largest brewing family, and I like their Negra Modelo, which is really a Vienna lager as someone mentioned. In the past you would not find any ales, but now there are a few micros that are, such as IPAs and stouts.
I did not find any Mexican micros at the Mega. Where might they be found on Coz?
Really? I was there today and saw a stack of them near the meat counter.

Most moments I feel like Bohemia Clara or Oscura. If I want something really light, Sol.
Whenever it's available, though, I'll go for Noche Buena.

It's my second favourite. Have you ever tried Kona Brewing's Koko Brown?
Both of these beers go down well after a day of diving and are worth travelling thousands of miles for!
