...I'd be interested if BDA is going to continue to do business and if so from Den Leman or not.....

This was posted on the Bonaire Talk site yesterday:

"Dive Friends will be operating at the old BDA location to exclusively serve owners and guests at Sand Dollar and Den Leman."

From a diving perspective, it is a good news as Dive Friends have three other sites on the island where you can go and exchange/refill your tanks. There are a lot of advantages of being colocated with a dive ops who has multiple drop off points in Bonaire.

I am happy to hear this news. Andre was the main reason I would consider staying at the Sand Dollar, and now that DFB is in charge, I will give them another look.

I got yelled at for swimming under their dock a few years ago. I thought it was pretty amusing that someone could be so petty.

The crew at DFB was nothing less than awesome to us when we stayed at Sand Dollar, on my last trip they were very helpful even though we weren't diving with them. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a good dive op on the island.

I think it's actually 4 other locations (Hamlet, Yellow Sub, Dive Inn, and Port Bonaire), which makes your point even better! :)

BD&A website is gone, just a message saying they're closed. Don't see an update on Dive Friends website yet

BDA's facebook page yesterday:

BIG SALE THIS SATURDAY FROM 9 AM -1 PM !! TREK BIKES, OCEANKAYAK SINGLE & DOUBLE KAYAKS AND DIVE GEAR.
GREAT PRICES!
COME AND HAVE A LOOK!!"

I wonder if they decided to just retire and decided not to renew the lease on their own. j

There's discussion about BDA, Dive Friends, Sand Dollar, and Den Laman on Bonaire Talk and it is a bit confusing, see the link below. It may turn out that only guests/owners at SD and DL will be able to use the dock. Folks diving with Dive Friends but staying in other locations will not have access to the dock - and they may not be able to pick up tanks either - but I am not sure about that.

Dive Friends has taken over the Lease for the facility between Sand Dollar and Den Laman. It will be a private pier for shareholders of Seaside Ventures (owners of the facility) and their renters and guests while staying at Sand Dollar or Den Laman. The location is not available to other customers of Dive Friends and it will not be a pick-up or drop off point except for those divers staying at the 2 resorts.

There is a public access point for Bari Reef on the south side of Den Laman that is accessed from the traffic circle.
