I have dove many different BC styles starting with the old horse collar. Currently I have a Beuchat "Tec" back inflate BC, its been a good BC. If I had it to do over I probably gone with the Zeagle (more places service vs Beuchat). I have also dove a Dive Rite BP&W, and it was fine. IMHO my BC was more comfortable. This sport can get pretty "tecy". You have to be honest about the type of diving you are going to do and how much. Are you really going to go "tec", dive duels? The vast majority of us are basic OW divers on 80 alums. Any of the top back inflate BCs will work great for you and your wife. My wife has an Scubapro Ladyhawk and loves it.

I will go on record as recommeding the Zeagles. I dive the "Tech" and love it.
My wife dives the Sea Quest "Libra" and loves it. She tried several ladies' BC's and settled on the Libra. She really likes the back inflate set up and the lack of binding across the bust area.
But in the end, to each his own . . .

Not knocking Zeagle for single tank dives but...When I had a Zeagle Tec and used doubles on it, I thought it moved way too much on me-- I called Zeagle they said to put a back plate on the back--- Now doesnt that defeat the purpose of having a soft pac?--I said. No meaningful response was given. Zeagles are comfy on the surface and underwater, however for Doubles you might be better off with a BP.
And after you try it you will ask yourself why go back to a soft pack. Then you will be one of us DARK FORCE users.
