Looking for a BC for my g-friend with above average stats...We went to LDS to try the SP ladyhawk, Libra, and Diva, all in size medium but the upper straps were way to 'spread out', not allowing the chest strap to be fastened. She is 5'7" 175lbs, typically size 12, but 36DD topside.
Medium fits perfect in torso length and cumberbund, so are there any people who have had to deal with this? Our LDS has limited brands, and was wondering if anyone has had to deal with this? Thanks in advance.

would like to put her in something high-end, back inflation, with quick release weight pockets, preferably staying away from custom back plate setups for now.

Well, I know you said you'd like to stay away from "custom backplate setups", but that's my answer. I'm a small but somewhat busty female, and a harness turned out to be the perfect way to be comfortable and have the rig stable on my back.

The Hera from Oceanic has an adjustable cumberbun and adjustable straps. The straps can be lengthened (or shortened in my case) to fit most anybody! Have her try one on and the LDS should let her adjust everything to see if it will work for her!

My wife is, uh, healthy up there. We just picked up a DUI Delts wings BC for her. Haven't dived it yet, but the fit and adjustability seems to be great so far. It's basically adjusting in every area from small to XL or better. The chest strap can be moved up or down.

I recently purchased a SeaSoft Pro BC. While it isn't specifically made for a woman, it is HIGHLY adjustable, and I've been able to set it up for myself so that I'm really comfortable. I've also been able to drop weight because (I think) of the configuration and the fact that it's made managing my bouyancy MUCH better than my former BC.

gc did she try the Ladyhawk in a large? I'm just a little bigger than your girlfriend except in the chest and I have a Ladyhawk in a large that I love. I have no problem with the chest strap and I don't need it at it's longest length. Another idea is if the chest strap is the only issue I'm sure you could find an extender strap. But the important thing is she finds a BC that fits and she likes and hopefully doesn't have to make compromises.

I would recommend either the Oceanic Isla, it has a slide adjustment for the bust(just what your looking for...) Or as someone else said, the the Seasoft BC(one size fits all that can be adjusted to fit anyone and is extremely comfortable)

Here are a couple pics of both so you know what Im talking about:

The Oceanic I have on Sale right now for $299 clearance special, it was replaced by the Hera, but the Hera doesnt have the Bust slide like it sounds like she needs...

Goodluck

In adddition to the Zena, Zeagle has the Lazer which I understand is a Stiletto(travel) BC cut for a woman. So it comes with the Ripcord weight release system.
