BC or BCD?

I don't get "poodle jacket" either. Wouldn't "puddle jacket" be more appropriate? Not that I condone picking on people for a gear choice, but shouldn't the term at least make sense? Maybe I'll start calling my bp/w a SSC (scuba superhero cape).

I use BCD during courses and when talking to new guests. If diving with friends or old clientle, then I sometimes may use BC.

Formal, working with students introducing them to the correct nomenclature....BCD. I have to make this a concious effort thought to actually say BCD vs. BC, it's just so much simpler.

Any other time BC. Voted BC too.

I use BC, when I use BCD it just feels like I'm reciting the alphabet:

Me: "Be sure to get a regulator and a BCD"
Student: "EFG?"
Me: "What?"
Student: "I thought we were reciting the alphabet you said 'ABCD' so I answered you. Didn't I use enough letters? Was I supposed to sing the rest of the song?"
