Hi,
I just got Bauer P1 (P31) filter tower from ebay.
Does anybody know what is the thread type & size for in/out ports?
Thanks in advance,

Bauer can be very confusing and don’t make it easy for end users as they do not disclose any of the filter shell thread type or form in any of the manuals documentation data sheets etc or make it easy on everyone and mark them up on the labels.

Years ago they had a maximum working pressure of 5000 psi and used the 9/16 x 18 UNC JIC form thread OK for the lower pressures but at around maximum you needed the larger BOSS form body

However the 6000 psi marking on your metal label photo (as opposed to the metric barg)
is supposed to give you the clue now that its as you say a 3/8” ISO parallel thread.
The photo also show a bigger diameter than 9/16

But then with typical German logic they then metricate the thread back with the BSPP
British Standard Pipe Parallel thread as opposed to the more popular imperial thread for the American market.

Go figure but being that the US Standard SAE would have been much easier to get and a UNC parallel thread with the BOSS type form a US Standard fitting. I guess getting BSPP in the states is as easy as it is in Europe to get SAE, BOSS form. Why they mix it up that way they do makes little sense.

One possible clue is that the American thread on SAE fitting is the same thread form as JIC
However a JIC fitting uses a smaller hex form for the body and at 6000psi would extrude the 0-ring
So now you need also a seal ring (Dowty seal in the UK) or a copper crush washer that bites into the anodising and corrodes the filter shell aluminium threads, hence why you should always use stainless fittings

German logic for the American market use British Standard Pipe. LOL.
