Hey Folks,

My Capitano (1981 model) has undergone a full rebuilt but air/oil is escaping from the intake after I turn it off.. Pressure is building to 225 Bar but the output is just around ~3.8cfm instead of 5.5cfm (21 minutes to fill an empty S80 tank) It uses a 5HP 220V 1Ph electric engine..

Compressor tech said that I need to replace my 1st and 2nd stage cylinders.

1. Anyone who has a working 1st and 2nd stage cylinder and is willing to sell?
2. Any other advice that I can do aside from replacing the cylinders?

If I understand you, leaking out of the intake, with compressor off???
Means more than likely multiple bad check valves. I would check inlet and outlet 1stage check valves.
Unless you have alot of blow by from the crank case more than likely cylinders are fine...... if this has been fully rebuilt.... then you probably need a new mechanic.
You don't fully rebuilt something, then say it needs some key major parts....
There are spec's to determine if something is worn out...

Edit.
It is possible that the blow by is plumbed back into the intake.....
So you will need to isolate that...

Happy is onto it, that's all of the info you need. I'd skip the blow-by test though, it's obviously not going to pass.

Pull the barrels off and have a look at the pistons, rings and cylinders. The problem will be in the 1st/2nd stage. If the problem was in the 3rd stage the compressor wouldn't make 225 bar
