Do standard energizer batteries count towards your battery limit, some of the people I talked to said yes but the online charts are kinda confusing. Thanks

I have ordinary AA and AAA batteries for pelican lights and bose quite comfort headphones and Lithium batteries for cell phone, dive computers/bottom timers (X4), Ipod, GPS, and O2 analyzer. All that is on carry on.

Only if they have Lithium in them:

Safe Travel

There is no limit anymore except for larger batteries. Although all the spares should be packaged according to the TSA requirements.

Standard Energizer batteries are not Lithium but alkaline. The restriction is against lithium batteries so you're fine there. Also, most AA and AAA rechargeable batteries are not Lithium but NiMH, so you're probably fine there, too. And don't forget, you can always carry them on. No restrictions there, just can't check them!

Traveling BACK from Cozumel last November '07, airport checkers would not let me take more than 4 back in my carryon--"that's your limit on the plane while flying"...these were regular Energizer AA's ie no rechargeable ones, had to dump 2 new ones in the garbage can on the way out to the plane......Now remember, these were Mexicans that IMO don't know their heads from other places, just trying to yank American's chain-----but what can you say to them ' I'm not flying if you don't let me carry 6 batteries on the plane(vs. 4)....I made sure I dumped them way in the bottom of the garbage can along with 2 decharged ones I traded out of my camera.........BTW, going to CZM from Houston 5 days previous, Continental employees did not say one word when I had 10 in my carryon bag......
