Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good basic equipment class? I live in the South Bay, but I'm willing to drive for a great class.

I'd like to learn basic maintenance and field repair of regs, BC inflator, ect. I'm not planning to do my own yearly maintenance, but would like to know what I'm looking at if I have issues on a live aboard.

I saw there is an Equipment Specialist class at Diver Dans, has anyone taken it and can tell me what was covered?

Thanks!

Unless you can find a good class IMO your money would be better spent on a book or 2 instead of a class. Most "equipment classes" as so basic that you will not gain much if you are even remotely mechanically inclinded. My suggestion would be to get a copy of Vance Harlow's "SCUBA REGULATOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR" www.airspeedpress.com/newregbook.htm Odds are you will learn more from the book, save money and will have a good reference book. I would suggest the book even if you do take a class.
