Not touching that, I like my Battery deals.

I'm not sure what I did to piss you off d33ps1x, and for that I apologize...I in no way am saying that this is the gospel truth.

Warren I am not pissed off. Just looking for responsible behaviour. I had this english teacher. Great guy. Probably the best teacher I ever had. He insisted on never letting people off on blanket declarations. He always said, "Great! But why?" Most people stalled out at that point.

You gave a blanket declaration that indicated you had some factual reason to believe it.

You have now admitted that you really don't know but you imagine your statement might be true based on your own concept of common sense physics. Unfortunately the fact remains that you really don't have any idea or scientific basis for your opinion. All you really have is your own imaginings and a few compound shortform names.

If you look back through your posts and threads you will find that people see you as a source of information and something of a leader in this online community. By taking the role of leader and advise giver you have held yourself to a higher standard then you are displaying in this thread. The term irresponsible comes to mind.

What you offer up on here affects real people at the other end. Something to keep in mind.

d33ps1x, I never claimed any of my statements to be hard factl. And my premise was based on my background as a biochemistry specialist rather than anything in a physics sense. I don't see where I was making any blanket statements either. If this is incorrect, please point it out to me. Really. I hadn't realized that I was being viewed as a leader or an authority on this subject, but was rather offering my viewpoint on the matter. But personally, I still hold the views I put forth originally.

Then it's good to at least now have it on record that what you proclaim on Scubaboard may or may not be based on fact.

A safer world for all. Thanks for clarifying.

Opinions aren't necessarily fact, so correct me if I am wrong. And to be correct, I never proclaimed anything. My opinions are just that ... my opinions. I still don't see where my in my statements anything of a blanket nature....

Does anyone know if anyone was injured in the sinking? Never mind I did some looking and found this.

ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y. -- A Canadian barge carrying a load of liquid calcium chloride to Montreal slammed into Frontenac Shoal on Tuesday, forcing the St. Lawrence Seaway to shut down indefinitely.

U.S. Coast Guard officials said a steering malfunction on the tugboat pushing the barge caused lines connected to the barge to break, and the craft then veered left and hit the rocky shoal just outside the channel at around 5 a.m.

The impact caused 12,000 gallons of liquid calcium chloride to leak into the St. Lawrence River. The barge, owned by McKeil Marine Ltd. of Hamilton, Ontario, was carrying 180,000 gallons of the liquid, which is used for snow and ice removal and at construction sites to keep dust down.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said the spill posed no real threat to the public, but the Wellesley Island Water Co. shut its pumps for more than four hours just to be safe.

The accident has forced Seaway officials to close the waterway to commercial traffic until the remaining calcium chloride can be transferred to another barge and the wreckage can be removed, the Coast Guard said. So far, five vessels on the Seaway have been affected.

We have a new wreck. From the video i saw there was plenty of time to get everyone off safely so... let the diving begin!!!

J- valve,
Do you have a link to the video? I heard that it didn't sink at all. I would like to see the video and am almost positive that others would too.

Warren. I'll do you the favour and stop now while you aren't too knee deep in your own. I have been ordered to get a haircut anyways and have to go do that before the commander loses it on me.
