Barcelo Maya - Riviera Maya Resort

Planning to vacation at Barcelo Maya AI this summer (2013). There is a 5-star PADI dive shop on-property. As a NEWLY CERTIFIED OW diver, I'm wondering what the quality of this shop is, and the quality of the dive tours they might offer.

The on site dive shop is Dressel Divers and are excellent. I just came back from Barcelo Maya and did nine dives with Dressel Divers.

They do a 8 am dive and a 1 pm dive every day within a 5 to 10 minute boat ride from the resort. These dives are interesting and good for new divers or experienced divers. They separate divers in groups according to their experience.

If they have enough interest they will do a two tank dive towards PDC.

Everyone there is very friendly, professional and experienced. I felt like part of the team right from the first day.
