So far not a huge response compared to the views.

I looked at the other threads and on average there is 1 reply for every 20-30 views. This thread is actually ahead of the curve @ 1:15.

anyone know who would be the best to contact, netdoc?

NetDoc's the man! If somebody owns a silkscreening business and can give us a quote on cost to pass forward that would be a good thing.

I think it's a great idea and like the idea of being able to support the community with a purchase from a Scubaboard store.

The visual idea from Pipedope with the giant stride off the plank representing the "board" sounds great if you could represent it well in a graphic.

Speaking of a graphic, years ago, our Local Search & Recovery Team needed a logo/patch for our jackets and letterheads, etc. We went to the local high school art classes and asked the instructor if we could sponser a contest. We had a meeting with those students who showed interest and told them what we were all about. One kid came up with a great graphic that we adopted and still use today. He won a few bucks and local press recognition. I'll bet we have some very artistically talented people on this this board. (I am not one of them) I'll bet it would just be awesome to have a world-wide graphic contest for a Scuba Board Member patch. What do you think?

I think this is a great idea. I have read through a number of threads about other SB members finding each other on various dives and this would make it much easier.

I would suggest that what ever logo you get created, you provide it in a large number of options since there are a large variety of people and their equipment vs. what they rent.

The wet suit patch seems best over all as this is one of the first things most divers buy, but some would probably rather have it on their tank since they may use more than one wet suit.

Just more food for thought.

Has anyone ever thought of trying to coordinate a get together for as many SB members that could come? Kind of like the PADI diving society?

I think it is a great idea, and I am looking forward to getting some kind of logo stuff from the Phase 2 online store, a beanie and a coffee cup.

Yeah, and something to identify us at DEMA. I would definately attend an event at DEMA if it were to be put on.

Is there any place that will make patches on something like 1 or 2 mil neoprene?
At a conference the other week I picked up a couple of coffee mug coasters at the USA's NEI (National Eye Institute, nei.nih.gov). These are 10cm sqares of 3mm neoprene with blue material cating one side and white printing of the logo, name and web address. I thought they might be useful for patching a wetsuit or the like. If anyone wants to ask the NEI where they got them from...?

Most divers on a day boat, at least in the warmer climates where many congregate, will wear a T-shirt before/after a dive so that's the best item to get attention. Certainly Amphibious Outfitters have a serious corner of the market in Florida.

I could see me Aquasealing a patch to my dive case/bag, BCD or suit. If it were made of reflective material, then that might be a selling point too.

Another thought - a suitably waterproof keyfob would clip to a BCD ring..?

Or, how about carrying your very own Scubaboard branded body bag? Really cool way to impress the local coast guard/coroner, but better hurry up before the DIR crew think of it...

Great ideas, the reflective patch is a brilliant idea. ;)

Hey Net Doc, how long do we have to wait :06:?????

I pm'ed netdoc a couple hours ago to make him aware of this post and to see what could be done so hopefully he will either post here or get back to me.myself personally i would like something for my tank and/or bags and something for my boat like a little flag or descent size sticker with an emblem of some kind, for whatever reason i don't want anything on my wetsuit

ProDive's boat has an 8cm one-legged frogman mascot hanging from from the shower. It must work because we hardly lost anyone important....

You want a mascot for ScubaBoard you could do worse than ScubaBoar...
