divetahoe:
It's a bad situation:

1. It's going to be 75 degrees and sunny both days this weekend (been a loooong, hard winter).
2. Lake Tahoe is 50 degrees.
3. Vis 50 ft plus.
4. Haven't been wet (due to *&#*&! work) in 7 months.
5. I am stuck in my office non-stop (15+ hours each day) all weekend.

It's time for a new job.

Your employer is making extra money by using one person to do the work of two.

Life is too short to have it suck.

If you tell your employer you're only working 40 hours/week, you probably won't get fired right away, and will have a few months to look for a better job.

If you're self-employed, the same stuff applies, although you'll have a better idea when you're going to get fired. 8-)

My "employer" are the taxpayers of the great state of Nevada! I work for the legislature and we are trying to complete the state's business before the constitutionally-mandated end of the legislative session Monday. This sort of nonsense occurrs only every other year, so for the most part, it is manageable. Toward the end of the two year cycle (to end at midnight Monday), I'll have been cooped up for so long that I am ready to burst.

On the positive side, I do get compensated for my time either via $$ or time off later... Come next week, I start working 3 days and getting paid for 5 for a while.if it weren't for my wonderful kids, I would be on a liveaboard then... Oh well, they'll grow up (too) soon.

Thansk for those who have responded/comisserated. Though now that I look at the tone of the thread, I believe it would have been better off in the Whine/Cheese forum!

Tahoe is absolutely beautiful right now! We dove Sand Harbor yesterday and it was such a nice day a hated to go home. Unfortunately for me, I don't really get to dive on the weekends because of my job. However, I do get to dive on the weekdays when things are not so crowded. I can't wait to get back up to Rubican next since it's already been a long weekend, and I need to have some fun. :)

i hate you, I hate you, I hate you...

Where's the thermocline these days? Didyou go out to "the Wall"? How deep is the barge these days? I am *starving* for info! :2tongue:

My face is sunburned in a circle where the hood doesn't cover it from the nice sunny 68 degree surface swim on...

I think the thermocline was around 40' and then another around 60' or so. They were both pretty mild with the lowest temp about 48 degrees. We scootered out by the wall, but then turn the dive since our objectives were more on the training end. As far as the barge goes, we stayed to the left of the cove so I didn't see it yesterday. I'll let you know how Rubican is after we dive it next week, but it should be another great dive. :)

Sounds awesome, especially the scootering part. It's a swim out to the wall. We'll have to hook up to do some diving later in the summer -- WHEN I'M NOT AT WORK!

which I still am... 14 hours and counting... :sod:

You are evil, pure evil...

Can't wait until the shoe is on the other foot. Bwa! ha! ha!

Well I'm headed out the door, NOT on my way to Little Cayman.
Going out to blow a couple of tanks at the quarry. It's going to be
a miserable day, 90 degrees and 90% humidity, no time to dilly/dally
getting in the water. Looking forward to cooling off at 53 degrees.
Now get to work and spend the tax payers money,
or come up with the reciepts, whatever you guys are doing.
