Bob, oh..did not know that. Wow, thats a lot of work for the DM. Do the girl types have to pull them up?
Oh, heavens no ... that's why God created electric winches (as opposed to eclectic wenches) ... :D

JeffG:coffee: , of course. You have to admire a guy that rates DM's on whether they bring him coffee or not.:)
You rate them base on their ability to hold your hand during a dive. My way is better. I'm at least responsible for my own diving.

Hmmm ... would you mind providing some specifics? Like, was this a shop dive? And which charter you were out on? The reason I ask is that I don't know of any charter operation in Puget Sound that provides in-water divemasters ... and I believe I've dived with all of them. That would suggest to me that you were either on a shop dive or a club dive ... and the DM was not affiliated with the charter operation.

I do know of some dive shops that push people through DM classes when they shouldn't (it's good money, after all) ... but most working DM's I've met around here are reasonably competent.

This was just a dive charter we booked. The operation was tealwater diving. They said that when we booked it the captian just called around to people who DM on his boat and 3 DM replied. They each led a group of 2 people on a dive, but not very well because my group never found the site w/ my DM and thhe 2 other groups each had a rapid descent where one person blacked out at 110', like I said eralier. I usually use Banditos when I go on a boat and they are great.
