Not the same as some. I use Halcyon webbing and the grommet is offset from center so the holes are aligned.

Interesting… I have a couple Halcyon rigs and none of them have offset grommets, but the holes still line up.

It’s really more that his plate doesn’t have the slots cut in the right position so the webbing lines up with any of the holes.

I like having the bolt thru the webbing so that I can be sure it doesn’t slip. I’ve had the waist belt slip when the triglide was pulled thru the slot in the plate.

Looks like they knocked off a Hollis plate, which requires their multiple piece ELITE 2 HARNESS.

Still a poor design, as the belt conflicts with lower tank strap when fitted this way (Manufact. pict.)

Hollis stuffs have already been Chinese made. They just put name on and charge if they are premium stuff. Overall quality, in my experience is quite low.

He also got a wing with slots. You can see the cam band slots on the plate in the pictures.
There is no built in tank adapter so I guess we will see a thread after he dives it saying the tank is shifting...

what is all this talk about Grommet?

or put a $0.50 (okay, $5.00 at a dive shop) plastic slider/tri-glide on it on the back side, and there is no movement (pure bliss)...

I just checked both of my Halcyon rigs and both have the offset grommet and they line up perfectly. As noted in the thread the grommet is not necessary but Halcyon uses them so you center the webbing. The H's are equal distance from the grommet so you can setup d-rings etc. the same on each side and rig.

I think the OP is going to have a problem because he states he isn't going to use a STA. The tank is going to be unstable.
