Jupiter Dive Center Home - Jupiter Dive CenterJupiter Dive Center - 3 Tank Trip

Captain - Mike

Dive Guide/Master - Amy

Deckhand - Steve

Check In - Gerry

Conditions on all dives = water temp 74 F, vis 40 to 60 feet, a mildly quick north current, overcast skies, small seas.

Dive 1 – Juno Deep Ledge – many hundreds of jack crevalle, a few bonitos, unfortunately I saw no sharks, although one was reported by a reliable source. Even without sharks it was a wonderful dive by my estimate.

Dive 2 – Captain Mike’s Reef – 6 goliath groupers (jewfish) one of them a brute about 300 lbs. it was tagged, 6 caribbean reef sharks, 3 nurse sharks two of them were large examples of this species, 4 loggerhead sea turtles, 2 hawksbill sea turtles one of them tagged, the high point fish of the day were 5 african pompanos African pompano - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia one of them was being cleaned at a station.

Dive 3 – Tunnels – 5 southern stingrays four of them near maximum size for this species, 8 goliath groupers, 10 caribbean reef sharks one of them tagged, 2 loggerhead turtles, and 1 green sea turtle

The diving as usual off Jupiter was superior. We saw three of the five species of turtles available, and some of the elasmobranches were porked up versions of their type.

This year has been one the best winter seasons of diving in Palm Beach County in sometime.

It never got cold this year water temp wise.

Chug
67f and I'm outta here.
