Guess we are playing different games then. My point IS to mod whatever equipment I need until it works for me.

[My weight belt didn't come with instructions either to cut the excess strap length off the end, but I did that too... cause it works for me.

My computer didn't have instructions saying "stick a ring through those misc. holes in the pack to mount a clip", but I did... cause it works for me.

Sometimes, so that I don't walk on the bottom, I even hem the bottom of pants that are too long when I buy "off the rack"... 'cause that's what works best for me.]

I am glad you are so full filled in life. I did not mean to be rude with the word game. I think you may have taken it that way. Again if you think like this then all is good. But still like I said I just test drove about FORTY models. And you ?

I feel the idea has been lost. UM my offer still stands and it will. I have been testing gear for years (MY daddy built gear)
So I have a idea not an opinion based on my mods. What was it you are diving in again?. And yes do all the mods you want and remember after all is said and done if it fails that could be because we tried it in a controled enviroment and that is why it is not the way you have it now.

Take a bouyancy course I can adjust mine with anything I am wearing. You are a programer. Build a program so all you do is put your finger on the button and look at what your mods are doing.

I am taking a back seat to this as your attitude is no longer fun.

My wife had a chuckel as She knows I come from a diving family of over fifty years. ( MY Daddy had a chuckel also). I love this stuff. (i'm forty being diving since 11 yrs old) thats NOT say I know everything just have a couple of years breaking crap.

I do not mean to come off rude but I am offended by your arrogance. I know you have at least a thsound dives and all being in cold water where you have loads of weight on and such. And I know you have owned several BCD's by now so I am sorry for not seeing it your way but still I am having a hard time as like I said we test drove FORTY. Beleive me at the cost of all the BCD's that do push forward YOU would save loads of cash by showing me your system. (About to buy several)

Balance is balance and if you can not control your BCD off the shelf UM.

I buy pants that fit so i do not have to make to many mods. Maybe you should have bought a BCD that fit. That way you too could have dove with out mods. Adjustments is not what it sounded like to me.

Cheers

Guess you missed this part of my first post in this thread:
ScubaFishee:
I can only speak for myself and this is what I have found that works for me. I just thought I'd share. I can't argue about what does or does not work for anyone else.
As for...

If my comments came across as arrogant, then I offer you my sincerest apologies, as that certainly was not my intention. I'm sorry I offended you.

Me Either.

That is why when I explain things I do it in a way that others can have there full say. It just gets to a point where it seems people either slag a company or a course. I have done neither. I believe all companies try there best. But that is not to say that they could be improved on. And that is what I thought this was about. Ways to improve on the gear we so dearly require to work.

I am not offended to the point I lost sleep. But thank you for the apologie and the same in return.

I am still at odds as I am looking very hard into this and doing loads of research and too date I have only come across a couple that truly work for my applications.

This forum just happened right after the weekend and loads of gear breaking trying to get it right.

Cheers

I understand.

Well, load the gear up and drive it down to Michigan. Maybe I can recruit some dive buddies and we can lend a hand with the gear testing by providing additional "independent feedback." :05:

Sounds like a good reason to get in the water to me. C'mon down and let's go diving. :icosm01:

I might be a little late here...

But maybe you guys can help me out. I'm thinking of buying hte Mares Morpheus Pro back BC. I'm 145lbs, 5'4", and will do most of my diving in the tropics with a 3mm shorty. I hate weight belts hence the reason I'm getting a weight integrated system. I am not a good swimmer, and am worried about being thrown forward at the surface. I don't like the idea of swimming backward. Why not put the snorkel on and swim forward? Doesn't work? Do I have to do anything to this setup so that I can be horizontal on the surface?

Putting weights in back trim weight pockets should keep you from going face first on the surface. Also don't think this is going to be an issue since the Morpheus isn't a true back inflator. Mares describes it as having a armchair bouyancy bladder. I think that is a combination of a back inflator and regular jacket.
