Just registered.
Looked at their stats on the babies. (Ft. Lauderdale central and south beaches)
Unassisted:hatchings went to the water without intervention. 262
Disoriented: the hatchling went the wrong direction towards artificial light and was rescued by our volunteer 393

Wow i had no idea it was such a problem! Poor turtles I always noticed the "street lights will be turned off during turtle season" signs along the beach but didn't realize how great of an effect other lights have them. I'm local too I will definitely look into how I could offer my assistance.

Ok, next question. Where can I purchase the red flashlights?
 
You can get red headlamps really inexpensive at Home Depot and Lowe's.
