The elusive B-36D (serial no. 49-2661) which crashed at sea off San Diego August 5, 1952 has been found. Video and still images, a dive report, history of the aircraft and its crash and animated flight simulation of its last moments are found at the UB 88 - California's Lost Submarine website.

We began our search after previous reports of the plane's having been found failed to produce compelling evidence of the aircraft. The more we researched these claims the more skeptical we became that anyone really knew the plane's last resting place. Descriptions by others of the aircraft's location and condition have all proven to be false based upon photographic evidence contained at the following link.
