Given that it is anonymous, I have no clue why someone would fabricate their results. I believe you may also be seeing the fact that ScubaBoard has a much higher percentage of very active divers than the diving community as a whole.

Several people have pointed out that this poll does not represent average divers. There are several caveats considering this poll is on ScubaBoard. All of the divers who have voted in the poll are SB members, know what RMV is and have calculated their values, and read this thread before deciding to vote. The results of this poll represent the participants.

Exactly! I'm sure is skews to the left of divers at large. But I still think it has been a very valuable poll and living thread.
