I paid $69 for the PADI course at my local dive shop. This included the nitrox tanks for the checkout dives. Paid I think $45 for the books/tables set from them. It didn't include the checkout dives themselves as I could do them on any of their trips or local quarry events.

I bought this during a "sale" and it's not normally $69. I think it's normally about $100 or $120 (+ books).

I do know of a dive shop in North Carolina that charges $250 or $300 for the same course, which is WAY overpriced in my opinion. maybe it included boat dives or something, but with that it's still overpriced.

Here in Denver it's $140 + $49.95 for materials. That's the NAUI course that doesn't require dives.

I've been looking at it myself for my wife and I.

I charge $125 for the course, includes class time, books, and two (shore) dives. You buy your own Nitrox ...

I took Nitrox a couple of years ago with Max Hillier at Divi Tiara in CB, and I think it was $75. No tanks included.

Edited to add: TDI course.

What is the average cost for a nitrox course? The place in the Carribean I usually go to just got Nitrox and SeaDoo scooters, so I want to get trained for it before I go next summer. They want $250 for the course. Is that a good price?

Thanks

Where do you usually go in the Caribbean? It may be a lot less expensive there and they usually throw in a number of dives at a lot of the places out there.

Regards,

Atlanta - SSI $100 plus materials (book and tables). SSI does not require dives for the certificaiton.

I got mine for less than a ton - I only had to pay for the boat dive which I would have went on anyway. Oh, and a new calculator to work out those calculations but that was cheaper than the one I bought in 1976 and it does a lot more things so good investment ;)

Charlotte-SSI $135 book tables and class and yes I had to do 2 open water dives.

If i teach a quickie program like a tdi or padi clas its normally around $150. When I teach an ANDI CSU class its usually $275..

The ANDI class is typically around 12 hours of lecture and 2 dives..

You can do complete PADI class in about 3 hours with just about any diver..

My Tdi classes are around 5 hours (I throw in some extra material not normally in the program).
