Well, for still learning...your doing great! I currently have just your basic point and shoot digital camera. I am planning on buying a better camera in a few months. I am trying to get some ideas, and figure out which direction I want to go with it.

Awesome BRO shot! What did you poke it with to get those rings flashing?

What is your camera now? You can get away with a lot with a basic camera. Me and Petunia's camera is a 2004 point n shoot model ;) But it can take a bit of playing around with settings - I had some help from petunia in that regard :) She'd worked a lot of stuff out and gave me some tips.

Oh I would never poke one :shocked2: They kill you within about 15mins if they bite you. At night they are always out and about and flashing blue. I think maybe they are hunting? I know if a fish or something gets close to them they start flashing their blue rings even more vividly so perhaps it is a warning type thing? I saw this one from about 3m away (generally I only find them up close as they are good at disguise), was really strange - was sitting on the weed with most of its legs up in the air waving them about :rofl3:

I'm probably going to go on Saturday morning if you want some company.

We were undecided about diving till the last minute so trying to arrange to meet someone was not really possible fred...maybe next time. We didn't get there until late... 9:30 or so as it was. Normally we have gear loaded the night before but this time we didn't even have that done ahead. We both worked Friday and I was really late getting home.

Well actually they only paralyse your respiratory system for 45 minutes or so then your body starts breaking the venom down. :no:You do kinda need someone to do CPR during that time tho! The message is don't give up on resusc.... you can get them back if you keep at it. Bit hard underwater tho!

We found the pineapple fish they had a little buddy. The baby Cuttle was so small I didn't see it till I looked at the pictures later. They were a fair way under the ledge too which makes it hard

Lovely shots Roby love the turtle most of all.

Alcina I love the way pineapple fish have spikes like pineapples. At the front where you see the white spots... they have a a spot they can light up to lure fish in the dark.. they are such unusual fish

I did Shelly Beach again on Saturday and good fun playing with Harry the Blue Groper. I'd really like to bring some food for him but I've always thought that feeding wild animals like that isnt a good idea. At one point I had Harry right in front of me (about 20cm) and a giant cuttlefish (about 90cm) to my right, was quite cool. The same 3 Port Jackson sharks seem to still be around.

Today I did the Shark nets next to Manly Wharf for the first time because I heard that there were heaps of seahorses there and I had never seen one before. Well they were right because I must have seen at least 30 without looking hard. Saw some tiny cuttlefish, some really cute mosiac leatherjackets (i think thats what they were anyway) and a pretty big octopus.

By the way, I'm officially angry at all the people in this forum with cameras because now you've put another idea in my head that will make me spend money!

Hey you don't have to get big and fancy.. some of us use rather old (5years is old for digital). You can probably get something fairly reasonable on Ebay
