After getting an email from Manta suggesting a 3mm and looking at the answers above, I think I might have to pop for the 3mm.....DAMN!!!! :dropmouth

take both :D See what you need when you get there.

I was diving a 3/2 in La Paz in August last year and was fine if not warm. But I hate to be cold so I'll take warmer over not.

I've heard there can be quite a thermocline on the deeper dives.

At least you can count on this when packing: since it's before Labor Day, you can wear white shoes (fins?) No matter what the thickness of the suit, don't wear vertical stripes if you're wide, and don't wear horizontal stripes if you're short. And don't mix plaids with stripes.

Other than that, you're on your own.

come to think of it mine is a 3/2 too, no redundency though. :D

And I have dived with a skin there also, again no redundency. :)

I will have to agree with WW on his fashion advice, spot on. :mrcool:

I think it depends on the style of the purse you'll be using.:D :D

Just to throw a monkey wrench into the conversation, I just got an email from Underwater Diversions and they recommend a Lycra or 1mm for August.......DOH

:banghead:

AND THE WINNER IS.........

1MM!!!!!!!

1mm is close to 3mm considering I dive a 7mm. Since last year in PV I wore a vest, a full 1mm might be OK. Also, since it has been very cold here in SoCal, I can use it as a first layer.

Good for you.
The full suit will also help prevent some of the hydra stings which aren't great.

have fun! We want a full trip report.
