August 2012, Rebreather diver lost in the G ?

Scorpiofish...was talking to Mathias Espinosa today who was guiding on the Aggressor back then and was certified in the Draeger. He was saying in current it was almost impossible to get enough air. Said whatever they did, they had to do slow which was a problem for them.

Learned the deceased diver had 1200 logged dives, but was only certified for the Mark IV in March 2012. His instructor was on the trip though not using a CCR himself. As Jorge said, only the deceased was using a CCR. There is an obituary online, but this thread is not the place to post that.
 
A Draeger Dolphin is a very easy rebreather to overbreath because of its design. A more modern Mark VI is much harder to screw up on. It does Jorge's ABC's automatically, and won't turn on if they aren't right.
