One last thing.............how in the world do you get all the sand out of everything!!!???
Now you understand why that beach diving group here in SoCal call themselves the "sandeaters". :eyebrow:

you dont, you just learn to live with it :)

Like it says on the Shampoo bootle; 'Lather, rinse, repeat.'

Jeff,
I enjoyed the dive and wish we could have had better visibility and more interesting stuff, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Your regulator was hissing a bit on the beach, you may want to take the 2nd stage apart and clean out the sand. That sand does get into everything. I hosed everything off and then soaked it in my rinse tank and violently swished it around before removing and there was still sand on the BC. Oh well, best treatment is another dive.

You should try Leo Carillo. I was there last weekend, and it was the only time I came out with more sand inside my wetsuit than outside.

I think that is oversharing :06:

Comments: MissyP finally got over the bronchitis that had sidelined her all week. After giving her a Get Well surprise this morning we headed down to La Jolla Shores to see if she could dive. She did great. We decided to look for nudis in the sand dollar beds. We found a few, plus a baby Horn shark, but the poor vis and surge kept us from getting a lot of enjoyment out of the dive.

There were dozens of Leopard sharks in three feet of water, but the waves kept me from getting any photos. We headed back out in search of more life and were surprised to find seven lobsters sharing one rock close to shore. California Sea Slugs, Pleurobranchaea californica were everywhere, as were pipefish.

The night dive brought a few surprises. Besides the Teddy bear that came tumbling downslope to us, we found a crab nebula in the eel grass and an unidentified critter. I thought it was a fishing lure due to the fluorescent colors. As I got close, it moved. Anyone know what it is? It was about an inch tall.

It was good to help Missy get back on track. Today's dives were numbers 97, 98 and 99 in her logbook. And this is in her first six months of certification! She's a dive animal.

The teddy bear is cute, he should be dried out pretty soon :D You should've snapped a pic of him as he came hurdling towards us in that nasty surge...
Good to be back in the water even though the diving conditions weren't ideal.... Still quite a bit of bioluminescence in the shallows which is always fun :)
