or any other reccomendation, Looking at a trip in Aug 2008, Beach is very important traveling with family non divers. Looking at these too for beach and diving locations. FBR has all inclusive but I have heard that the food isn't that great there. Anyone ever stay or have there food. Also Ocotal is it worth the money to stay there vs. Ocotal.

Flamingo Beach is right across the street from white sand beach, but no real shore diving/snorkling. FBR is definately family friendly, but has sort of a steril feel to it. More 50-60 year olds there than young families, but still has a local shopping mall/casino/and rentals for diving / fishing.

We stayed just up the street at Flamingo Marina resort, and I wouldn't worry about the food, for sure don't go all inclusive, too many good local beach front reseraunts to enjoy fresh fish and AWESOME ceviche'. I highly recommend Roys place in town, cheap food and some of the best ceviche and fish we had in over a weeks stay.

Ocatol, rooms good, food good, diving Hmmmm enough said. However I may be a little bias as our car was broken into in the walled in grounds, with armed guards. I strongly suspected one of the guards (I have reason to ) and when I told the management there was no help from them at all.
