If you get an Atomic T1X I would set it up with the M1 exhaust and M1 mouthpiece. That's a rockin set up. Breaths great at all depths, No bubbles in the face, dry as a bone in any position and light for travel. How great is that.

OH YA, One draw back $1500.00 ------------- only Money right? Can't take it with ya.

I agree with the Price issue..It makes an Atomic reg..a definate for carry-on luggage while traveling.

Thanks for the input. The reason I was inquiring if anyone has used a Ti, is that I love the M1 so much, I was considering using it on my stage bottle and getting a Ti for my primary. That combined with my Poseidon Xstreme would be quite the reliable set up as I am a Canadian diver and I dive all year including under the ice. I recently sold my ScubaPro S600 to upgrade to the M1. I was having problems with my S600 freezing below 34 degrees. I have some problems with my ScubaPro R380 Mrk20 deco reg. freezing in the summer when I am diving in colder lakes, below 40 degrees. I am starting my trimix course in a couple of weeks and don't want any of these problems to arise on the course or in the future in they can be prevented. The Ti is quite epensive, but it's something I'm willing to overlook.

The deflector is quite sweet. You don't see any bubbles during the dive. As for the mouth piece, I have quite a small mouth and actually prefer the ScubaPro mouthpiece.

Thanks

Although I don't have either the M1 or the Ti, I did switch to the B2 last fall. My SAC was indeed changed, for the better, by about 10%.

All the best, James

I guess like some other posters here, I have to wonder why you don't just stick with the M-1 as your primary. Perhaps you should look at a B-2 for a backup or Octo. I have the M-1 and a Z-1 for my Octo and dive nitrox any time I'm able to. :butnhome:

I also have a Poseidon Xstreme Duration and really like it but it pulls to the side a bit, all the weight is on the one side. I think the Atomics breath a bit smother but the poseidon really starts to shine under 80 or 90 feet. I have a Xstreme octo hooked up to it and sometimes have a problem with the hoses hitting the back of my head, so I have to spin my tank a little bit. I know it is set up for tech diving but I just like how it feels on deeper recreational diving 110 or 130 limits.

I looked at the Z1 and it is only good to 40% O2. The M1 is good to 80% and the Ti is good for up to 40%. What I was thinking was that I could use the Ti for the primary, Xstreme for my back up on my doubles, and switch the M1 to my deco bottle. I've never actually used more than 40% in my back gas, it's just my deco bottle that is of some concern. It was mentioned earlier that someone had an Atomic "blow up on them", maybe this wouldn't happen if consumers payed a little more attention to the product specifications. The M1 is their only reg that is rated for up to 80% O2. I was going to use Poseidon Xstreme's all around, but after using the M1 it breaths much smoother. In the Xstreme's defense, it's not supposed to start to perform and shine until you get it below 220'.
At 150', the M1 breaths about 50% smoother and about twice the volume of the Xstreme. At 210' it's only about 1.25 times as smooth and about twice the volume of air. I figure around 250' to 300' the Poseidon should "open up" and out perform the M1. These are only personal observations. I've taken both regs down to 245' and to 210 a couple of times before I purchased it and this is just what I observed. They are not manufacturor specs.
What really had me sold with both of these regs is the performance in the cold water, below 32 degrees and having never froze either of them and beleive me, I've tried damn hard to. My big problem was that I've never dove a Ti and don't know anyone who has used one, that's why I came here for some advice and to see if anyone has any dislikes about it, other than the price. I've said it before, reliability is worth a couple hundred bucks extra, especially at 300' or 400'.

Hmm.. I don't think the T1x would be any more reliable than the M1. Why not just get another M1 or get a enviro-sealed B2? Unless money is no issue to you, there seems to be little point in getting the T1x that's almost 1K more. (Maybe with a keyman discount, but even then doesn't it still cost 3~400 dollars more?)

I was told that the TiX was a better performer than the M1. If that's true, I'll spend the bucks, if it's more money just because it's almost 1 lb lighter, I don't care about that. Weight isn't an issue, just performance. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who owns one or has used one.
