Interesting point of view. I've never really heard of folks sending their regs back to the manufacturer for routine overhauls. Anyone else around here do that?

The same ones that send their cars back to the factory for a brake job, or go to their parents for heart problems.

Question: What do you call the guy who graduates last in his regulator repair class?

Answer: A repair tech!

Question: What do you call the guy who graduates last in his medical class.

Answer: Doctor!!

This could be changed to fit any number of occupations, including the ones that you or I are employed in. IMHO it is totally irrevalant.

I have atomic M1 and ScubaPro Mk25/600 - M1 is brand new and I really am pleased. ScubaPro does not breathe well upside down(horizontal). Atomic breathes consistently in any position.

first of all, as one who has gone to med school, there is an infinite difference in the skill of a guy who graduates last in his med school class, and a guy who graduates last in his reg tech school! that is the worst comparison that i have ever been witness to. second, if you have a ferrari, do you take it to the local halfwit garrage to get it serviced? if you have a fine piece of craftmanship, who better to trust it to than the company who made it? i think it is a fine point, and one that i happen to agree with.
i also have an atomic b2, and love it. i have taken it down to 170 feet in panagatan, philippines, and even upsidedown or on my back it breathed perfectly! so when i need to service it, guess where it is going...
