What is the difference between an Atomic Z2 and Z2 octo? Is the octo just set a little tighter to prevent freeflo, or? I have an air2 and so don't need to use the octo and was considering using the Z2 octo on a MK20 first stage to use as a backup rig. Any problems here as I'm hoping for the same kind of performance as my main rig? Thanks.

No problems at all if you adjust the Mk20's IP to a number the Z2 likes. I'd suggest 140 psig. That's about standard IP for most manufacturers. The Z2 will be quite happy with that IP.

My first thought when I read this was $100. Seriously there is no difference. Unfortunately the octo is a bit pricer which is a shame. As said adjust the IP and you should be fine.

The Z2 and Z2 Octo are basically the same second stage, so both have an adjustment knob to de-tune the reg. You would just keep the knob turned-in on the Octo to keep it from free-flowing. The only differences between them are the Octo comes with a yellow face cover and longer hose (32" Z2 and 36" Z2 Octo). As for working with a MK20? As long as the Mk20's IP is between 125-145 psi, it should work just fine.

Hey, thanks everyone. I think that pretty well answers any question I had.
