Hey everyone,
I have just about finalized my first set of gear. I was pretty much set tp pick up an Atomic M1, but for the same price that I can get one from Leisure Pro, I can get a Flathead VI from an authorized dealer. I think on paper, the M1 is superior, but I am interested to see what everyones opinion is. My diving will be Northeast wreck diving and Caribbean diving for the foreseeable future.

Which way would you go!?!?

ANY advice at all would be of great help! Thanks!!!

I own 2 M1's for my doubles, and a Z1 for my single tank rig. I love the Atomics, but I have never tried the Zeagle regs, so I can't compare them. Local service is important but you can always send the Atomic regulators into Atomic for service. It may cost a little more, but they come back looking like new, and you KNOW the work was done right. How good the local service will be depends on the shop and the tech who is working on the reg.

Well, If I went with the M1, I would most likey get it from Leisure Pro because they have such a good deal on it, so I wouldn't have a factory warranty. I would however have a leisure pro warranty. If I went Flathead VI, I would have a factory warranty.

I bought both my M1's from authorized dealers in NY (Pan Aqua and Village Divers) because Leisurepro didn't have them at the time and ScubaToys (authorized) couldn't sell them out of their territory. I could be wrong, but I don't see any warranty benefit when I get them serviced. There is no "parts for life" or anything like that. And I have had them serviced at dealers who didn't sell them to me with no isssues.

Interested to hear more views on this myself
I have a zeagle envoy rig and a zeagle flathead rig but was looking at the atomics m1 setup for my twins

Hey Steve,
How do you like your flathead?
Any pro's/con's to the flathead in your experience?
Thanks!!

I have dove the Zeagles. I like them but I found the second stages to be a bit large. I like the Atomics better. They breath very nicely. We now have seven.
