Hi. I recently got an Atomic B2 with SS1 as a second reg set ( My 1st is a MK25 S600 Ti) after hearing great reviews on them.

I like the inhalation - very smooth and effortless. However exhaling seems to require a great deal more effort than most other regs I've used - more pushing with your breath to get the used air out of the reg. I brought it back to my dealer and he opened it up to check and told me that there was nothing wrong with it. He did comment that the Diaphragm at the exhaust T which lets the air out, seemed a lot stiffer than other diaphragms on other regs. And he accounted the extra effort exhaling to it.

Does anyone here have any comments on it ?

If it possible to replace it for a "softer/ more pliable" diaphragm ?
Thanks in advance

I've got an Atomic M1 and T2 (as well as assorted Apeks/Aqualung/Mares/Poseidon regs) and I've never seen/heard/experienced what you're describing. Maybe you should PM 'Darcyatomic' (the Scubaboard rep here on Scubaboard) to see if Atomic has made any recent changes to their regs or if there is any chance you got a 'defective' exhaust valve or if they've made any recent changes to the design/materials of the Atomic's exhaust valve.

I don't have any problem with having to force air out of the 2nd stage on my B2 either.

Darcy doesn't check in very often, so I'd suggest that you give her a call. One of the things I really appreciate about Atomic is that they put their phone number on their website so there's no waiting around hoping someone will respond to an email.
