Atom 2.0 Queries

I have just bought the Atom 2.0, not a bad little PDC.

I have a few quick questions.

I am struggling to set the alternate time!! As we all know the manual sucks, could any one please explain in simple English.

Also, in the brochure it states that the PDC has a digital compass (I wish!!). I bought this watch on the belief that i would not have to wear a compass, not a huge drama just annoying.
