I just read the whole thread , what can I say that has not already been said ... I am saddened that someone you trusted, someone you were looking to for guidence, abused there power over you and put fear and distrust into you when it was joy and freedom you were looking for. Thank you for having the courage to share with us your painful story.
We are All glad that you are back in the water and enjoying the underwater world

sorry to hear this depraved act happened to you. guess it happens i commend your bravery in coming out with this, i know its very difficult but glad you did. at least the guy was reprimanded and if you ask me his name should be posted so he can carry the shame forever! take it easy and dont let this unfortunate incident stop you from enjoying God's creation under the deep blu sea. take care

Glad you are back in the water, and have not let one jerk ruin a great adventure for you!

Hello everyone,

It has indeed been a couple of long months since I last touched base with all of you but I wanted to let you know that everything is going much better for me. Although therapy is a long and ongoing process, the best therapy I have done for myself took place last week. I returned to Mexico and went diving in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen!! The staff of Dressels Divers were no less than outstanding and the experience was breathtaking.......... They say that "time is the healer", but it all depends on what you do with the time. Diving is an amazing sport and your continual encouragement has helped me every step of the way. Thank you.

It's wonderful to hear that! Big {{{{{{{{}}}}}}}} to you!!

Fonfon,

It really saddens me to hear that someone in a position of trust could be so thoughtless. I hope you know that this scum is not indicative of the many fine people that are divers. Diving should be a life changing thing but in a very positive way. I hope that you will somehow put this behind you and discover the joy that diving can bring to your life.

Folks this thread was started over a year ago, and a lot of mending has gone on. IOW, it has been "put behind" - let's let it stay there.

the last time i heard from Fonfon, she was doing well, and was very thankful
to everyone who supported her here at ScubaBoard

her therapy was going very well, and her life was well back on track

well, I don't understand how this could happen underwater. Somebody care to clue me in...hypothetically? I really cannot imagine what could happen. I am serious...am I stupid?

It depends on the level of assault. It can be simply groping/rubbing where you shouldn't oughta grope/rub.
