The earthquake in China looks devasting :(

Watching video from China on the morning news... definitely a heart wrenching situation. So sad to see the loss of human life, especially the parents grieving their children trapped in the fallen school buildings. Of course little to no coverage of the disaster in Burma.

I really have a feeling this quake in China is not done yet - got another notice this morning: Magnitude 5.9 - EASTERN SICHUAN, CHINA

Also got a notice of a 5.8'er down the Sumatra trench (Magnitude 5.8 - NORTHERN SUMATRA, INDONESIA) - it's pretty close to where the last "big one's" epicenter was that caused the massive 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami destruction. That quake was measured at between 9.1 and 9.3. This quake's (above) epicenter was only about a 100 miles NW of where it was during the 2004 quake.

I agree, it's so tragic to see the loss of human life on the scales we are seeing it and a lot of it [edit: like what's going on in Myanmar] is because of human arrogance and people caught up in delusions of power.

May our thoughts dwell with those both in Myanmar and in China today. :(

Agree, it appears there is quite a difference between the responses of the two governments. Of course our focus is on the human beings caught in these tragic situations. After all, regardless of what nationality we claim, we are all trying to achieve the same goals of living and loving.... our commonality is what binds us together (that and the threat of the little green men and women from the planet Xanadu).
