Cool, 'Dette. We could finish clearing the area just off the steps in about 40' of water. I cleared a lot of it this weekend, but it was so dense and extensive there's still more to do.
I'll talk to some of the organic gardeners about using whatever we pull out so it goes for a good cause. Years ago when I was sampling drifting kelp rafts for attached and dispersing inverts, I would take the drift kelp up to my class's organic garden and dump it into our huge compost pit. The turnips and corn I grew in my plot up there were awesome... at least until a bison kocked down my pig proof fence and allowed the pigs in.
